RN Mary Robin devotes herself to her career, even avoiding becoming involved with Dr Will Ames, whom she loves from afar!
Fellow nurse Tess (who considers Mary a role model due to her dedication to the profession) tells her she's breaking off with her beau, Andy, because he wants her to give up nursing to become a housewife.
But one of Mary's patients, Ray Austin, has her starting to feel differently about her life choices...
