Sensation Comics DR PAT "Danger in the Everglades!"

Don't you wish your doctor was more like Dr Pat?
Anybody can sit around in their office, but she gets out there in the field where few male doctors would dare go!
While not exactly "racist", the use of solid magenta for the Seminoles' skin tone is just...weird, especially since, in DC's various Old West titles, the Native Americans are shown as "suntanned" compared to the White characters, not beet-red.
Otherwise, this never-reprinted tale from DC's Sensation Comics #105 (1951) is pretty much "business as usual" for comics' first ongoing female doctor!

Sensation Comics DR PAT "Case of the Frightened Flyer!"

Dr Pat...physician, crime-fighter, aircraft pilot, animal tamer, Commie-crusher..
...lets add "unlicensed psychologist" to that resume!
Inker Frank Giacoia also pencils this never-reprinted tale from DC's Sensation Comics #104 (1951), giving it a different "look" as he experiments with "camera angles" to liven up the story...not that it needs "livening up"!
Once more, Dr Pat demonstrates that not only can she do almost anything, she's aware of when not doing anything is the best strategy!

Sensation Comics DR PAT "Carnival of Doom!"

Have no fear...Dr Pat is here!
And this never-reprinted tale from DC's Sensation Comics #103 (1951) shows why...and it ain't just her medical acumen!
Considering the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel features multiple series about freelance female sleuths whose main gigs are everything from bookstore owners to matchmakers to talk show hosts to Post Office workers, why don't they have a woman doctor who solves crimes in her spare time?
I'd suggest adapting Dr Pat into a series, either as a 1950s period piece or a contemporary-set show featuring the latest in medical technology at her disposal!

Sensation Comics DR PAT "Circus Queen Mystery!"

First-rate physician!
Fantastic felon-fighter!
And now...an amazing animal tamer!
Is there anything beyond Dr Pat Windsor's many talents?
Closing out Women's History Month, this never-reprinted tale by scripter Robert Kanigher, penciler Carmine Infantino and inker Frank Giacoia from DC's Sensation Comics #102 (1951) spotlights Dr Windsor's knowledge of toxins and cures...along with her resourcefulness and bravery.
Why she never reappeared in new stories set in the DC Universe after her strip ended is beyond me!
(For the record, her first two tales were reprinted in DC's Lois Lane in the early 1970s [50 years ago], but the vast majority of her stories haven't been published anywhere in 70 years!)

Sensation Comics DR PAT "Case of the Mechanical Brain"

Our favorite female MD vs...a giant killer robot?
Has Dr Pat "jumped the shark" or is there a rational explanation for this splash page?
OK, not quite the "killer robot on the rampage" tale the splash page implied, and well within the realm of plausibility, this never reprinted tale by scripter Robert Kanigher, penciler Carmine Infantino and inkers Infantino and Frank Giacoia from DC's Sensation Comics #101 (1951) actually fits well within the format of numerous non-costumed crime-fighters published by DC, including Mr District Attorney and GangBusters!

Sensation Comics DR PAT "Dr Pat--Flight Surgeon!"

She cures the sick, catches criminals...
...and defeats Communists!
Is there nothing Dr Pat can't do...while looking really kool doing it?
Though Wonder Woman was the cover-featured heroine of Sensation Comics...
...it's obvious Dr Pat is the real "Wonder Woman' of the book, as this never-reprinted story from #100 (1950) by writer Robert Kanigher, penciler Carmine Infantino, and inker Frank Giacoia proves!
She outsmarts a high-raking Communist officer and shoots down a fighter, while handling her flight surgeon duties!
BTW, the XB-49 "Flying Wing" was a real (albeit experimental) bomber tested during the late 1940s-early 1950s!
It's best-known to the public as the bomber seen in the 1953 movie War of the Worlds delivering an A-Bomb against the Martians!
(Actual flight footage of the ship, not a miniature, was used.)
Who says comics ain't educational?
