...we're going to try to look at the humorous side of the matter, with a never-reprinted tale from Atlas' Nellie the Nurse V1N14 (1948)!
We've previously-shown you several stories from Nellie's two vastly-different series HERE!
This particular feature from the first run, illustrated by Morris Weiss, does "make light" of the potentially-deadly disease at a point in time before a vaccine was developed in 1954.
In those days, supportive care had lowered the annual US toll to about 400 to 500 deaths per year, alongside roughly 3 to 4 million infections and 48,000 hospitalizations annually.
Apparently, RFK Jr and MAGAmorons want to return us to those days!
Sad.
